About Me

16 Countries, 24 U.S. States, 16 National Parks… and counting.

Hello! My name is Aiyah. My love for travel started in Spain. I was 16, wide-eyed, curious, and instantly captivated by the idea of discovering the world. Since then, I’ve traveled through college and into my early twenties, sometimes with friends but mostly solo, and I’ve savored every moment. I’m 24 now, and travel remains one of the most grounding and defining parts of my life. I will try anything at least once… skydiving, surfing (even though I'm deathly afraid of sharks), and cooked lamb brain (yes, this one was hard to chew).

I’ve explored much of the U.S. and Europe, and in the New Year I’ll be expanding my adventures into the Middle East, South America, and Asia. Traveling has widened my perspective, connected me to incredible people, and taught me more about life, and myself, than I ever expected. And as a true foodie, I’m forever chasing the best local bites, whether it’s street food or a reservation-only tasting menu.

I’m a bit of a chameleon when I travel. I can go full budget backpacker, I can lean into luxury, and I genuinely enjoy both. Most of my trips have been affordable, but I’m not shy about splurging on a memorable hotel, an unforgettable meal, or an experience I’ll talk about for years. Here, you’ll find a blend of it all: smart travel tips, personal stories, and the occasional indulgent escape.

I was born and raised in Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C., and I’m a lover of food, hiking, piano, and being on the water. I studied economics in college and spent a few years working in real estate before leaning fully into travel writing.

This space is where I share my journeys, lessons, and favorite discoveries. Whether you’re a budget traveler, a luxury devotee, or anywhere in between, I hope these stories inspire you to explore, connect, and discover your own version of Dunya… the world as it’s meant to be lived.
