Paros, Greece

Return to the Greece Home Page

Where to Stay

  • Stay with locals if you can—my friend’s grandparents’ cliffside home was unforgettable, with sweeping views and daily home-cooked meals that felt healing to the soul.

Beaches I Loved

  • Voutakos – Nude beach, secluded and beautiful.

  • Kolymbithres – Unique rock formations, great for swimming and photos.

  • Piso Aliki – Super calm, almost empty, perfect for relaxing.

Things to Do

  • Take a boat tour to the Blue Lagoons – amazing swimming in crystal-clear turquoise waters. Big catamaran with fresh fruits, cheeses, breads, and snacks.

  • Explore downtown Paros – grab a freddo espresso on the water, wander the white stone streets, and check out the shops.

  • Visit Lefkes – quaint village with incredible views and charming streets. Don’t miss a meal at Klarinos.

Food & Treats

  • Loukoumades at Merada – soft, pillowy dough balls topped with a chocolate-hazelnut sauce better than Nutella.

  • Fresh Greek food made by locals – nothing beats homemade cooking.

  • A Freddo Espresso is a bold, chilled espresso shaken over ice with a frothy top—strong, smooth, and perfectly refreshing.

  • Souvlaki / Gyros - i always ordered mine with potatoes, tzatziki, and tomatoes.

Travel Tips

  • Definitely rent a car to maximize your time and see more of the island. Driving is easy, though some roads are narrow with two-way traffic. Expect a high deposit (I paid $800), but all was fine.

  • Paros is lesser-known, so it’s perfect for a chill, uncrowded Greek island experience.
