Interlaken, Switzerland

Interlaken feels like a postcard you somehow get to live inside. Set between turquoise lakes and surrounded by dramatic mountain peaks, it’s small, walkable, and bursting with outdoor energy. This is one of those places where the scenery alone will stop you in your tracks — and then you realize the experiences are just as unforgettable.

Harder Kulm — A Must

You must make your way up to Harder Kulm — either by hiking if you’re feeling adventurous or taking the gondola if you want to save your legs. The views from the top are unreal, especially at sunset when the mountains glow and the lakes turn that deep, dreamy turquoise. I had fondue at the top, which is definitely a bit touristy and slightly overpriced — but honestly, the vibes, the cheese, and the views made it 100% worth it.

Explore the Town

Interlaken itself is small but so fun to roam. Walk the streets, pop into shops, and just soak in the alpine atmosphere. You’ll see paragliders floating above town constantly — a reminder that this place is all about the outdoors and adventure.

One of my favorite stops was Spatz, a little café right on the water. Their bresaola croissant sandwiches were incredible, and somehow the popcorn-flavored lattes worked perfectly. I had many. It’s the kind of place you go back to more than once without even thinking twice.

Where to Stay: Victoria Jungfrau

The Victoria Jungfrau Spa & Hotel was absolutely amazing. The indoor pool is art deco–themed and stunning, and there’s a swim-out entrance to the outdoor hot tubs with mountain views — easily one of the most relaxing experiences ever. I had a massage that literally put me to sleep, and the amenities overall were top-tier. If you’re looking for a luxurious reset after days of exploring, this is the place.

Skydiving Over the Alps

I also went skydiving with Outdoor Interlaken, and it was unlike anything I’ve ever imagined. The experience felt extremely safe and well-guided from start to finish. It begins with an incredible 20-minute plane ride up through the Alps, then suddenly — you’re out the side of the plane doors. A 45-second free fall followed by about 20 minutes of the most peaceful, jaw-dropping glide down with unreal views in every direction. Truly unforgettable.

Getting There

You can easily take the train into Interlaken, but if you’re traveling with a larger group, booking a private car can actually make more sense. We had eight people, and economically it worked out better — plus it was much more convenient.

Final Thoughts

Interlaken is a dream for anyone who loves the outdoors, adventure, and breathtaking scenery. Whether you’re hiking, spa-hopping, sipping lattes by the water, or literally jumping out of a plane, this place delivers experiences you’ll never forget.
